He went on to Morgan State University where he was a member of several organizations, such as the marching band and wind ensemble, the Promethean yearbook staff, and the student government association as an assistant comptroller. In addition, he worked as an assistant resident director on campus until his gradation in the fall of 2005 with a degree in Accounting. Mr. Ellegood went on to attain dual masters degrees from the American College of Education in the Area of Education Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction. In 2007, Mr. Ellegood followed his passion for helping and encouraging others and became an educator in the public school system. He currently has 13 years of service and serves as an administrator at a local high school. It was also that same passion that gave Mr. Ellegood the courage to start Simon Studies, a tutoring and mentoring business, he named after his son and most recently co-founding a non-profit focusing on mentoring the youth of Washington, DC. area. It is our goal to target primarily students in middle school, initially, then moving up to high school youth. By providing academic support and mentoring services, we establish the goal of producing change agents for our communities. The program will form partnerships with local school districts, the juvenile court system, local businesses and other local and national organizations. E3Y, Inc.’s goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and reassert a sense of hope in the future. We have three main vehicles to deliver our mentoring services. Mentees can choose between Bowling For A Purpose, Equestrian by Design, and Leadership BootCamp. Part of our mission is provide our mentees with skills that can be universally applied for the purpose of earning scholarships at the collegiate level or competing in competitions, locally and nationally.
